Wife’s wedding dress stolen from the UPS driver's hands

Over the last year my fiancé, at the time (wife now), and I saved up what we could and threw ourselves a wedding. Didn’t ask anyone for money, just invited everyone that we could afford too. Yes, we had some help in some areas with some things form loved ones but not out of asking for it but out of them offering. One of those was my wife’s wedding dress. Shown in the picture. So we got married and went off to the honeymoon. Israel and then Prague. After we got back she sent her dress to off to a service to get cleaned and sealed. So it could be preserved. Weeks later she got the delivery and low and behold…. it wasn’t her dress. She was pissed! They had mailed her someone else’s dress.

Some back and forth calls and emails. Sending the wrong dress back. Eventually, three weeks later, the company found the dress. So they sent it UPS with signature required. So Monday, 2/1/16 I noticed the UPS sticker on the door. “Tried to deliver but need a signature”. Next day (Tuesday), wife calls UPS, to hold the package so she can pick it up. This is where it gets interesting.

UPS says that it was delivered.  What?? Digging in some more, according to the driver “Pedro” some guy pulled up in a Gold SUV and jumped out saying he had been waiting for the package. “Pedro” asked if he lived there and then let him sign for it. Under the name “José”. That’s not even a name on the shipping labels. Fred and Tiffany are as un-José as you get. “José” jumps back in the Gold suv and drives off.  So “José”, in a gold suv, made off with a big box. He probably thought it was something electronic and ended up with my wife’s wedding dress.

There was some theory that the cleaner/sealing company had it stolen because they never actually found the dress. Though I don’t think that’s the case, but who knows now a days. I also had a Samsung Galaxy S6 shipped to my door stolen last Friday night on 1/29/16. Highly suspect. New theory is maybe the UPS driver is in on it. No idea. We notified the cops but not sure how much that will help. Maybe if he gets caught at least there will be a record of it. We live in Tampa, FL over by Cypress and MacDill.

It’s a real bum and kind of sad that the dress my wife got married in is now lost. She’s sad about it.

I plan to setup cameras this weekend and plan to order lots of packages in hope of catching the guy. I ordered some gps trackers too, to put in “packages” outside the door. If I do, I will post again!
